How to Make a Sad Lion

Hey folks! I've been finishing up my cowardly lion mold from last semester these past few weeks. First I made a lion out of sculpey (based off my cowardly lion illustration from last year). Then I made a mold from that sculpey figure out of silicone. This mold annihilated my original sculpey figure, so I don't have any pictures of that to show you... fortunately the mold yielded a nice batch of resin copies. :) This is my first time making a mold and resin copies... it was super fun and I totally want to do it again and again.

Now I have eight sad lions, and you should check them out at the CCAD Art Sale this Saturday! Buy one of my small prints! Haha. This is my first art sale ever, so we'll see how it turns out. Exciting!

Warning. My silicone mold looks like an organ. People were impressed that lions came out of it and not some kind of twisted who-knows-what. Function over form.
